Definitions
Within the following, the words “LMG”, “we”, “us” and “our”, refer to LMG Finance Inc. and its related companies. The words “you” and “your” refer to customers, prospective customers, dealers, prospective dealers and anyone who visits our website, engages our services and otherwise provides personal information to LMG.
“Personal data” means information in LMG’s possession about an identifiable individual, such as customers and dealers. Personal data may include but is not limited to social insurance number or other governmental identification information, marital status, income, and credit history. Personal data does not include business contact information.
The term “customer” or “user” refers to an individual applicant or co-applicant whose personal data we collect in order to help facilitate a financing application.
The term "dealer" refers to a company, including owners and managers, whose personal data we collect in order to initiate a business relationship where LMG provides outsourced finance and insurance outsource services.
1. Purpose
We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of customers, dealers and other website visitors. In doing so, LMG has adopted the following privacy policy (this "Privacy Policy"). Please read the Privacy Policy carefully as it contains terms that govern your use of any LMG website or web page (collectively, "Website"), including www.lmgfinance.ca and www.lmgdrc.ca.
This privacy policy informs users of our Website of the following:
- The personal data we will collect;
- Use of collected data;
- Who has access to the data collected;
- The rights of Website users; and
- The Website's cookie policy.
This Privacy Policy applies in addition to the terms and conditions of our Site.

A customer's or dealer's decision to withhold or withdraw their consent to certain uses of personal data may restrict our ability to provide a particular service or product. If so, we will explain the situation to assist the customer or dealer in making the decision.
3. How We Use Personal Data
For customers, LMG collects personal data in the context of a customer's application for the financing or leasing of an asset from a dealer with whom LMG does business. We may use customer personal data for the following purposes:
- To verify identification;
- To assess and verify creditworthiness;
- To meet regulatory requirements;
- To comply with applicable laws;
- To meet your request to arrange financing; and
- To meet your request to arrange insurance coverages.
For dealers, we may use personal data for the following purposes:
- To initiate a working relationship between the dealer and lending institutions;
- To initiate a working relationship between the dealer and insurers; and
- To verify identification as required by lending institutions and insurers.
4. Who We Share Personal Data With
We may disclose personal data to any member of our organization, but access to this information is limited to those who reasonably and specifically require such information to conduct their business activities and/or responsibilities and to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
LMG will not sell or share personal data about you with third parties without your consent, except to provide the products or services you have requested or in the following situations:
- If required by law;
- If permitted by law;
- If required for any legal proceeding;
- To detect, prevent or report to law enforcement agencies fraud or other illegal activity;
- If an emergency threatens the personal security of workers/employees, customers, dealers, or the public; and
- If the personal data is available from a public source.
For dealers, we may use personal data to fulfill the following purposes:
- To initiate a working relationship between the dealer and lending institutions;
- To initiate a working relationship between the dealer and insurers;
- To verify identification as required by lending institutions and insurers.
5. How Long We Store Personal Data
We will retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the identified purposes or a legal or business purpose. Once the retention period for records containing personal data has expired, we will destroy or modify those records such that the information in the records cannot be linked to an identifiable individual.
6. How We Protect Your Personal Data
LMG has set up security measures to protect you from the loss or unauthorized use of your personal data in our custody or control. In addition to physical and procedural safeguards, we use the strongest available encryption and store all of our data on servers in secure facilities.
7. Notification of Loss, Unauthorized Access or Disclosure
While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm.
Without unreasonable delay, we will notify the appropriate authorities and individuals of any loss, unauthorized access or disclosure of personal data within our custody or control if such loss, unauthorized access or disclosure may reasonably be considered to present a real risk of significant harm to an individual.

Personal data will be provided in an understandable form, within a reasonable time period and at a reasonable cost to the individual.
We may be permitted or required to refuse to provide access to personal data in certain circumstances, such as if confidential business information would be disclosed or if disclosure could reveal personal data about another individual. If access is refused, we will provide the reasons for denying access to personal data.
9. Compliance with Law
This Privacy Policy is to be read in conjunction with appliable privacy laws in jurisdictions where LMG operates and may be amended without notice from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to our data collection process.
